One of my favorite looks for holiday wrapping is simple kraft paper (here I used paper grocery bags turned inside out), stamped in gold ink (my favorite is the "Delicata" gold ink pad by Tsukineko) with hand-carved stamps, all tied up with red and white baker's twine. I hand carve stamps using linoleum cutters (I love Speedball Speedy Carve lino blocks). Geometric shapes are my favorite and they are very simple to make!
A modern take on wedding giftwrap: white drawing paper (from IKEA's children's section) plus neon office labels (from any office store). (I got the idea of using labels as polka dots from Paper Source. Of course, I had to find neon ones.) Then, I tacked on more baker's twine and one of my mini embroidery hoop designs as a sort of gift tag.
